Southeast False Creek Redevelopment
Home // Southeast False Creek Redevelopment
Southeast False Creek (SEFC) is the largest remaining undeveloped parcel of land in downtown Vancouver. It comprises about 32 hectares, of which about 20 hectares is owned by the City of Vancouver. Part of the City-owned land is slated for development as the Olympic Village for the Vancouver based part of the 2010 Winter Olympics.

Historically, the whole site was used for industrial and commercial purposes and the redevelopment has been designed to reflect this heritage by use of appropriate materials. Ultimately SEFC will be a mixed-use community, with a focus on residential housing for families, and will eventually be home to 12,000 to 16,000 people.

Hay & Company is proud to have been involved with this project for several years and has designed all the waterfront treatment, such as steel sheet pile walls, riprap revetments, pile supported boardwalks over the water and pedestrian bridges. Recently a group from Hayco’s office toured the site under the guidance of Ralph Everts, PEng, Hayco’s project manager. This page was last updated on: 2/9/2007 3:47:58 PM
